Target Audience Research  Identify audience by age, gender, geography, income level, education level, etc The audience for my magazine is mostly aimed towards an older crowd. Most cooking and food magazines are created for older audiences who have the time to read the magazines and recreate the recipes. Along with an older crowd, the magazine also includes articles on new restaurants and popular local places. Because of this, it opens up the audience to locals and tourists, as well as younger crowds who enjoy food. Research films or magazines with a similar target audience  One example of a magazine aimed towards an older crowd is Reader's Digest (large print edition) . Because this magazine has a larger font size, it is easier for the older audience to read. Reader's Digest does this purposely to make sure that older people can read the magazine. Revision/Research In order to make the cover page better, I decided to change the font and placement of the article names. This makes it easier for the audience to read the titles. By using a simple font, It is much easier to read the article names. Below are before and after pictures of the revisions to the title page. Before After The table of contents I made before did not have enough article names on it. To fix this problem I added an additional article name to the page. Most magazines only list a few article names, so by adding one more the page looks more full and complete. Before After

Use of Conventions My magazine challenges conventions of traditional magazines because each issue has its own set up, fonts, and style. While the name of the magazine and content is the same, the page set up, fonts, and over style are all different. Traditional magazines have the house style for every issue. Some magazine I have researched, such as Taste of Homes, have a different cover page, table of contents, and font style of every magazine. My partner and I decided that by making each magazine different, viewers would have something new to look at each week. Below are examples of how Taste of Homes uses different styles when creating the table of contents in each issue of their magazine. These images are followed by my table of contents for my project.
