TASTE OF HOME- SUMMER 2017
Taste of Home is a food magazine that focuses on practical "home cook book" recipes that are easy for their readers to duplicate. This magazine includes many easy-to-follow recipes, along with pictures of each dish. Taste of Home is a magazine targeted to the average person, who loves cooking and food. 
COVER PAGE 
The main focus of this cover is the picture of the chicken wings. Because the focus is off center and to the left, the left side has plenty of room for article titles. This creates more room on the cover page and allows it to look organized. Two of the many things I like about this cover are the red box for the magazine title and the clarity of the over photo. Both make the cover look clear and clutter free. Sometimes when magazines use different fonts and colors on their cover page it can look very cluttered or unorganized; however, this cover manages to pull it off. 

TABLE OF CONTENTS
The table of contents in this magazine, just like the previous one, only lists large important articles. This makes it easier for the reader to find the articles listed on the front of the magazine. From looking closer at magazines, I have noticed that the articles listed in the table of contents are usually the ones also listed on the cover. The table of contents page also includes a large picture that relates to one of the main articles. The pictures included are bright and used to attract the reader to the article. When creating my table of contents, I plan to use this technique. 

RECIPES
The recipes in this magazine are easy to follow and very straight forward. The recipes included also follow the theme of the entire magazine which is "summer." I plan to create a breakfast magazine, which means I will include breakfast recipes into my issue. This magazine has recipes for drinks, slaw, tacos, salad, tea, and many other summer food necessities. When inserting recipes, it is important to remember to include them for all types of food, and drinks as well. 

PAGE NUMBERS
Page numbers are found on the left page only. I like this because it makes the magazine pages look cleaner. Sometimes the page numbers can take away from the content of the page. Having page numbers on one side eliminates some of this issue. 

ADVERTISEMENTS
When looking through the magazine, it is obvious that most of the advertisements are located in the front and back of the magazine. The middle is where most of the articles and recipes are. The advertisements include dog food, crackers, cheese, adult diapers, menopause medication, cereal, and jitterbug cellphones. From the advertisements in this issue, it is obvious that almost any kind of advertisement can be included. From these ads I can tell that the magazine is aimed towards an older audience.

TABLE OF CONTENTS Most magazines have similar table of contents template/outlines in each of their issues; however some, such as Taste of Homes, do not. My partner and I decided that each of our magazine issues would have a unique table of contents design. This way the reader sees something different each time they open one of our magazines. Photo Shoot- Oxford Exchange

SATURDAY BRUNCH AT OXFORD EXCHANGE For my visit/photo shoot at Oxford Exchange in Tampa, I decided to go during Saturday brunch. Every Saturday and Sunday morning OE, serves from a special Brunch menu. This menu is served from 9am-4pm every weekend. Included below is a picture of the brunch menu, from Oxford Exchange's website.  PHOTO SHOOT Oxford Exchange was a very beautiful restaurant, with a library, two coffee bars, and a full shop. Photo Shoot- Shore

SUNDAY BRUNCH AT SHORE For my visit/photo shoot at Shore Restaurant on Saint Armand's, I decided to go during brunch. Every Sunday morning Shore serves Brunch from 10am-2pm. They have a life DJ and a crowd of people every weekend that come in just for the special brunch menu. Included below is a picture of the brunch menu, from Shore's website.  CRUNCHY CHALLAH FRENCH TOAST For brunch at Shore, I decided to go with something I usually wouldn't order. The Crunchy Challah French Toast is a beautiful plate of four pieces of french toast and seasonal fruit, topped with a scoop of house made whip cream. My usual brunch meal from Shore would include a Kale Salad or the Shore burger, but for the purpose of the photo shoot I decided to go with something that would look great on the cover of a magazine.
